Hi!
sociopathsanonymous:

Tell me, do you like Neutral Milk Hotel?
Their early tapes were a little experimental for my taste, but when Avery Island came out in ‘96, I think they really came into their own, both commercially and artistically. The whole album has a fuzzy, trumpety sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalsim that really gives the songs a big boost. He’s been compared to Four Volts, but I think that Jeff has far more crazed, over-the-top vocals.
In ‘98 Jeff released this, In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is “Holland, 1945”, a song so catchy, most people probably don’t listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it’s not just about Jeff Mangum’s obsessions with Anne Frank, it’s also a personal statement about abuse and incest brought about by his dad!
Hey Paul!

Owning a Raven is a lot of work, in America African Ravens & crows are legal to own. I’ve interacted with companion ravens before and they are fantastic. Seeing this incredible bird free flying and playing in the air while knowing he is keeping his eye on us and will come back.

“Cody Wilson planned in the coming weeks to make and test a 3-D printed pistol. Now those plans have been put on hold as desktop-manufacturing company Stratasys pulled the lease on a printer rented out for Wiki Weapon, the internet project lead by Wilson and dedicated to sharing open-source blueprints for 3-D printed guns. Stratasys even sent a team to seize the printer from Wilson’s home.”

Reblogged this before, but then I overheard a comment from a coworker who knows more about both guns and the current 3-D printer market than I do: “Anyone dumb enough to use a 3-D printer to print a gun upper [receiver] deserves what they get.”

Best.

I am in no way saying this is the best Sesame Street video ever. But I am saying if this doesn’t make you think that Patrick Stewart declaiming “Goodnight, sweet prince!” while he kisses you goodnight on your forehead would be nifty, then maybe I don’t want to know you.

Do you know of an issue that deserves more attention?

I am looking to spend two weeks in the late spring/early summer focusing on a photo/writing project in the US that highlights the debilitating effects of poverty and or drugs.
